For this assignment, we worked on designing a fun, game-based activity to help ESL students improve pronunciation, intonation, and parts of speech. We had to connect real research with a practical classroom idea, which made us think like future teachers. Creating the basketball-style game helped us see how learning can be active and motivating.

For this assignment, we worked as a team to create the “Fun-Etics” phonics game and think about how to teach sounds in a fun, active way. We had to plan the materials, steps, and classroom setup, and connect everything to theory and research. It made us think about how kids learn best through movement, play, and participation.

EDFU-3007: SOCIOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION
The course includes an analysis of social sciences and their relationship to the educational process, and of the school as a social institution. It includes a study of man’s cultural heritage and the functions of education in preserving and improving it, the integration of education with the life and institutions of the community and the human group, the conduct of groups in relation to school problems, the role of the teacher, and the relationship between social changes and the school.

This assignment was about learning how debates work and how to compare “then vs now” topics like technology, social life, and responsibilities. We had to research both sides, list pros and cons, and use evidence to support our ideas. We also worked in groups, discussed different viewpoints, and practiced organizing arguments clearly. Overall, it helped us understand how to think more critically, analyze sources, and build stronger opinions while also seeing how history connects to present-day issues. It was simple but useful and helped us prepare for real debates in class.
EDES-3205: ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY IN SPECIAL EDUCATION
Technology is changing people’s lives. A growing area of inquiry is the application of technology to special education. This course will provide basic information about assistive technology (AT) for people with limitations/impairments. The purpose of the program is for future teachers to acquire competencies that will allow them to increase their knowledge, acceptance and use of TA. Both theoretical and practical aspects will be included. In the discussions, case studies will be worked on through which the student will be able to apply the basic knowledge acquired in the course to the use or design of equipment.
Development of an Assistive Technology for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

In this assignment, we had to learn about the Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA) and how it affects students in the classroom, especially their communication, behavior, and routines. Then we had to design a simple assistive technology tool that could actually help them in a real school setting. I created a visual daily schedule using pictograms, Velcro, and a structured board to help students understand their routine better and feel more secure.

EDES 4067: INCLUSION AND MOTIVATION OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
This course helps in the development of skills in regular education students for the adequate care of students in the special education program integrated into the regular program. Emphasis on the development of teaching skills according to the different disabilities in the use of motivation and awareness techniques. The skills included in the course are based on the law that guarantees the educational rights of people with disabilities.

In this assignment, I had to go to Ralph W. Emerson school and observe a third-grade classroom for one hour. I watched how the teacher taught Spanish, especially syllables and accents, and how she managed the class with respect, patience, and support for all students, including those with special needs. I also paid attention to the classroom setup, activities, and student interactions. After observing, I answered reflection questions about what I saw and how it relates to teaching.
