Educational Technology

In this section, you will find all the courses related to educational technology. Throughout these classes, I have learned how to effectively integrate digital tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences. These courses have provided me with the knowledge and skills to use technology not only as a support for instruction but also as a means to foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking among students. As a future teacher, I plan to incorporate these tools in my classroom to create engaging, interactive, and inclusive learning environments that meet the needs of all learners.

TEED 3008: USE OF AUDIOVISUAL RESOURCES IN EDUCATION

This course focuses on helping students develop the skills necessary to design and create effective audiovisual resources for educational purposes. By the end of the course, students are able to apply these skills to establish a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that supports participation, comprehension, and academic growth for every student.

EDUCATIONAL INFOGRAPHIC

Reflection

In this assignment, we had to design a catchy and kid-friendly infographic called “¡Cepilla tus dientes!” that explained the steps of brushing your teeth correctly. We broke the process into simple steps, from choosing a toothbrush and adding toothpaste, to cleaning all tooth surfaces, gums, tongue, and finally rinsing everything well. The goal was to make the information easy to understand and visually appealing for students. It helped me practice organizing instructions clearly and thinking about how to teach hygiene in a fun way.

TEED 4018: INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER IN EDUCATION

This course serves as an introduction to the use of computers in the classroom. It provides an overview of the functions and uses of popular computer programs in the classroom. We can all learn more about new technologies thanks to this course.

DIGITAL STORY TELLING

Reflection

In this assignment, we had to retell a fairytale using a presentation. Each slide included a voice recording of us reading the story aloud, so we were basically narrating it step by step. I chose The Princess and the Pea because it was simple and familiar. It was interesting to break the story into slides and think about how to read each part clearly and expressively.

Educational Games

Reflection

In this assignment, we created a PowerPoint digital game for kindergarten students focused on science. The goal was for students to identify whether different images belonged to flora (plants) or fauna (animals). I designed it so that when students picked the correct answer, the image would disappear, and when they got it wrong, it would turn red. This made learning more interactive and fun while helping them practice classification skills in an engaging way.

TEED-3035: Integration of Telecommunications in the Classroom

This course focuses on the use of telecommunications to enhance learning in classroom, distance, and virtual environments. Students also learn relevant vocabulary, equipment, and teaching strategies to communicate effectively in distance and virtual education. The course equips teachers to integrate technology thoughtfully, improving student learning and expanding educational opportunities beyond the traditional classroom.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Reflection

In this assignment, we had to design a lesson using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Gagné’s Nine Events of Instruction. We planned different ways for students to learn the concepts like characters, theme, and transitional words using visuals, videos, and hands-on activities. Then students would apply everything by creating a story and using tools like concept maps and Venn diagrams. We also included practice, feedback, and a final project so students could really show understanding and improve step by step.

TEED 4020: Computer Assisted Instruction

This course gives students the chance to create an instructional computer lesson using the HyperCard and HyperTalk language. Students apply key principles of instructional design and visual literacy while developing their project. They can design a tutorial, a demonstration, or a practice exercise that includes different instructional activities. The goal is to combine technology, creativity, and teaching strategies to produce an engaging and effective digital learning experience that helps others understand a topic clearly and interact with the lesson in a meaningful way.
