This WebQuest is designed for 5th grade students in Science (Space Science) to engage in an inquiry-based learning experience focused on the Solar System. Students work collaboratively as “astronaut teams” to research the eight planets, organize scientific information, and apply their understanding by creating a Solar System booklet and model.

 

The activity promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and scientific communication while integrating technology and creativity.

Instructional Strategy

This WebQuest uses Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) and Collaborative Learning strategies. Students take on authentic roles (researcher, writer, designer, presenter) to promote accountability and teamwork. The teacher acts as a facilitator while students construct knowledge through guided exploration.
